“Children obey your parents in the Lord for this is right. Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise.” – Ephesians 6:1, 2.
One of the signs of the last days is that children will be heady and disobedient to parents. This negative aspect of the signs of these later times should not be allowed to fulfill on us, the children of God. Children should be obedient to parents, as they (the parents) have more experience to guide them aright haven passed through those stages of life. The children of nowadays tend to have the impression that they (the children) are more enlightened and civilized than their parents, therefore they see advise given to them by their parents as outdated or out of fashion. This is very wrong. Because the Bible is the yardstick of Christian morals or behavior, and the Holy Bible is never outdated, rather it is a book that can stand the test of time.
Children are therefore advised not to be lured by the enticing tricks of their peers, so as not to fall victims of situations that they will regret later in life. King Solomon advised, “My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord neither be weary of his correction: for whom the Lord loveth, he corrected; even as a father the son in whom he delighted.” – Proverbs 3:11, 12.
