Text:

“A forward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends.” – Proverbs 16:28

Comment:

A forward person is one who speaks perverse things contrary to reason, difficult to deal with and stubbornly disobedient. He has a spirit of contradiction and is contrary to all men in his principles and practices, such a man sows discord and strife wherever he is, in families, neighbourhoods, in churches and religious circles, etc. A whisperer is one who goes about carrying tales, whispering falsehood and lies into the ears of persons about the character of other people. Such conduct separates friends even the chief of friends that have been intimate for years, they are also capable of separating husbands from their wives. And in Churches cause division among brethren.

This is very unchristian and an abomination in the sight of God. (Proverbs 6:16-19 particularly verse 19). The Bible says “Woe to those that spoilest, and thou was not spoiled; and dealest treacherously, and they dealt not treacherously with thee; when thou has cease to spoil, thou shall be spoiled: And when thou has made an end to deal treacherously, they shall deal treacherously with thee” (Isaiah 33:1.) As Christians we should run away from such vices and do things that will make us abide in the Tabernacle of God by His grace. – Psalm 15:1-5.
