Text: “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination” – Leviticus 18:22

Comment: The word lesbian is derived from the name Lesbos, an island in Greece home to Sappho, the 7th century female Greek poet whose writings centred on women's daily routines, rituals and relationships. The Wikipedia defines a lesbian as “a homosexual woman who is romantically or sexually attracted to other women”.

From the outset, the Almighty God had warned His children not to indulge in same- gender relationships as it undermines decency and the marriage institution. Apostle Paul under God's inspiration says: “But because of the temptation to immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband. (1 Corinthians 7:1, Revised Standard Version)Young girls who have attained maturity should marry and not give themselves to wild, inordinate affection for fellow females. It is abomination before God. – 1 Timothy 5:14. See also Hebrews 13:4.

Those who have ungodly passions for same gender should desist from this outrageous behaviour. Prayers to God, a strong will to resist the devil, non-exposure to the vice, reading of the Holy Bible and other spiritually-edifying writings, are some of the known ways to overcome or break this nasty habit. (Ephesians 5:19, 20) “For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don't know God. - 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 (World English Bible).
