Text: “And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years, even the selfsame day it came to pass, that all the hosts of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt” – Exodus 12:41.
Comment: The Almighty God is a God of exactness, a God of order and decency Whose exercise of His divine prerogative is done with absolute precision. In the text for today, the Almighty Father fulfilled His promise towards the children of Israel by bringing them out of Egypt on the exact day, 430 years of their entry into the land of Egypt.
In the celestial realm of the Almighty God, there is no time lag or delay, postponements, or cancellations which are common features in the terrestrial realm. Jesus Christ was born to this world “in the fullness of time”, that is, when the time was due. (Galatians 4:4) Similarly, until it was time for him to be killed, no one could arrest Jesus Christ not to talk of killing him. (John 7:6,30; 8:20; Matthew 26:46)
Men who are created in the image and likeness of God should strive to be purposeful, diligent and be conscious in the management of time bearing in mind the admonition of Apostle Paul: “Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord” – Romans 12:11.
Children of God should make good use of time that is available to them in attending divine services, and other church activities. The “king's business required haste” says King David to Ahimelech, the priest (1 Samuel 21:8). In the secular sphere, one should not go late to work, school, business engagements, social meetings etc.
God spoke through Jeremiah, “Yea, the stork in the heaven knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle and the crane and the swallow observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the judgment of the LORD.” (Jeremiah 8:7)
