Peace is a condition in which one is free from war; the absence of violence or other disturbances within a state; a state of mental calm and serenity, with no anxiety. The Almighty God abhors confusion and disorder. He is the God of peace. (1 Corinthians 14:33) In Romans 15:33 St. Paul prays the God Almighty, “The God of peace” to be with us. We shall enjoy relative peace in this world and everlasting peace in the Kingdom of God fully established when we do our duties to God and His son Jesus Christ. “Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.” - Philippians 4:9.
Text:“But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.” - 2 Timothy 3:13
The evil men in the context of this prophecy by St. Paul corresponds to the “the children of the wicked one” as stated in Matthew 13:38 and “the children of the devil” in 1 John 3:10. These are people who have the spirit of the devil right from the womb and so are naturally inclined to evil practices. (Psalm 58:3) In the time of Ahab, these were the sons of Belial whom Jezebel hired to bear false witness that they saw and heard Naboth blaspheme God and the king. (1 Kings 21:13). The two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were also children of the devil in that in spite of their position as ministers in the priest's office, they openly gave themselves to extortion, to covetousness and immorality. (1 Samuel 2:12-17,22-25) The homosexuals who besieged a house at Gibeah in the land of Benjamin, insisting that the men who came in to shelter for the night must be brought out to them were also children of the evil one. (Judges 19:22) So also were the “evil and adulterous generation” in the time of our Lord Jesus Christ who never believed and practice the truth, no matter what they heard and saw. (Matthew 12:39; 16:4)
The point is that such people without consciences would multiply in this age, the last days, at the instance of the devil. The people of God understand why the devil is using his agents to manifest his anger in more vicious and destructive forms and therefore give themselves to studying His word, to sober conduct and to prayer. – Luke 21:36; Philippians 2:15.
