“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” - Luke 6:38.

Anyone who wholeheartedly supports the work of God reaps bountifully by His grace, as our Saviour states in the text just cited. A ready example is the case of the “great woman of Shunem” who provided succor to Elisha and thereby made his work easier. Apart from invoking the favour of God on her to embrace a son, God used Elisha to restore her son to life when he died. Later, the man of God still saw to her welfare when he told her to sojourn wherever she wanted as famine would soon descend on the land of Israel. When she returned after seven years, her property had been taken over. She cried to the king, co-incidentally, that was when Gehazi the servant of the man of God was telling him “all the great things that Elisha hath done” - 2 King 8: 1-4.

Gehazi quickly identified the widow as the one whose son Elisha raised to life.  “So the king appointed unto her a certain officer, saying, Restore all that was hers, and all the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land, even until now.” (2 Kings 8:5-6)  Christ truly say “He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.” - Matthew 10:41.
