“None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.” - Isaiah 59:4.
This apt comment on the state of affairs among the unfaithful Jews in the time of Isaiah the prophet is true of the state of things in the world today. The love for God and for one's neighbour has been largely ignored. The qualities that make for order, peace and progress such as honesty, truthfulness, diligence, justice, humility, the fear of God are lacking in the lives of the people. This reality has resulted in so much disorderliness and unhappiness.
Several lives have been lost due to wars that have broken out because people who had lived together peacefully for years now see themselves as enemies. Where there are no “hot” wars, there are “cold” wars by way of riots, strikes, demonstrations, terrorist acts, etc. The solution is for people to exercise faith in the word of God and to pray for His guidance and strength always. Solomon stated: “Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.” - Proverbs 3:13,16, 17.
