Text:“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” - Matthew 6:33
As man's wants are insatiable, so are goods and services being provided daily to meet public demand. It was therefore a timely admonition from our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, for all who believe in God not to allow themselves to be distracted by the many goods and services on offer in the world.
Those who seek the kingdom first make the study or acquisition of the knowledge of God their priority. (2 Timothy 2:15; Job 23:10-12) They deny themselves of pleasures and sinful practices in order to please their Maker. (Mark 9:43-49; 1 Peter 2:11; Galatians 5:24) They are plain in their dealings with God and men; they are not hypocrites who say one thing and do another. “The way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous is made plain.” - Proverbs 15:19.
All who tread this part will lead quiet and decent lives in whatsoever good things their hands find to do, so as to support the work of God, themselves and their fellow men by His grace. - Proverbs 3:9,10.
