“Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.” – 2 Peter 3:13
The great theme of the Holy Bible is life itself – how man lost the life given to him and how it would be regained in God's Kingdom fully established. The Kingdom of God is therefore the hope of all Christians. The Kingdom will cover both the heavens and the earth and is the only solution to the problems of this world. (Isaiah 65:17) Hence, Christ taught us to pray: “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.”
The Kingdom will be planted in this age and will continue to grow as people of goodwill are gathered into it by the power of God until He (God Almighty) will bring iniquity to an end and righteousness and peace will cover the earth. Since we are looking forward to and praying for the Kingdom, we should conduct ourselves with sobriety to gain the favour of God. “Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.” - 2 Peter 3:14.
