“Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.” - Ephesians 2:11-13.
Those Gibeonites who joined with the Israelites in their service under Joshua's command picture the people of good will in any part of the world who heed the call for people to seek refuge in God in order to escape destruction and obtain life under the conditions God Almighty had laid down. Such ones identify with God Almighty and Jesus Christ and look to them for protection and salvation by Their grace. Of all the people in the surrounding country, it was only the Gibeonites who humbled themselves to become subject to God Almighty and His people. As God gave opportunity for life to the Gibeonites based on their faith and obedience, so he is offering the free gift of life to all on the condition of obedience. On the day of Pentecost a number of those who heard the preaching of St. Peter, “were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.(holy spirit) For the promise is unto you, and to your children, …even as many as the Lord our God shall call.” - Acts 2:37-40.
