“And said to the judges, Take heed what ye do: for ye judge not for man, but for the LORD, who is with you in the judgment. Wherefore now let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.” - 2 Chronicles 19:6, 7.
This charge by King Jehoshaphat to Judges in those days should guide those in the temple of justice in their daily work. It is well known that things have sunk to such depths that those who are paid to enforce the law are the ones routinely breaking the law.
According to a report in one of the influential international magazines, a California judge threw out the convictions of nine people after prosecutors said they were among at least 32 framed by a group of corrupt police officers within the Los Angeles Police Department. The magazine states that “In the last decade, DNA tests have provided stone-cold proof that 69 people were sent to prison and death row in North America for crimes they did not commit” ! The report states further: “Sometimes, it turns out, eyewitnesses make mistakes, Snitches (informants) tell lies. Confessions are coerced or fabricated. Racism trumps the truth. Lab tests are rigged. Defense lawyers sleep. Cops lie.” Thus, Barack Obama, while serving as a senator stated that “after a number of inmates on death row were found innocent” he “enlisted the support of law enforcement officials to draft legislation requiring the video-taping of interrogations and confessions in all capital cases” ! In the days of John the Baptist he warned law enforcement officers thus, “Exact no more than that which is appointed you”, “Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages”. - Luke 3:12-14
