“Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him”. -Jude 14,15
Those who persist in doing evil think no one will hold them to account. They do not believe in the biblical teaching regarding future rewards and punishments. They say “How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?” (Psalm 73:11) and that “The LORD shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it”. (Psalm 94:7) They believe they will never be in adversity. (Psalm 10:2-11)
The Bible shows that there is no creature that is not manifest in the sight of God “but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do”.(Hebrews 4:13) That God does not close His eyes to the works of evil doers is spotlighted by the prophet David in Psalm 50:16-21. That God does not take action immediately does not mean that He cannot or will not act. The Almighty works according to His set purposes. He cannot be pushed or rushed. The prophet Solomon stated: “Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him: But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he feareth not before God.” - Ecclesiastes 8:11-13.
In the words of St. Paul God “hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.” - Acts 17:30, 31.
