“Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” – Isaiah 1:16-18.
Before the great and terrible day of the Lord when He will take vengeance on the wicked and destroy those who destroy the earth, (Revelation 11:18), God Almighty will first use His true servants to warn the nations so that they would repent and cleave to Him. (Matthew 24:14; John 12: 48) This work, referred to as the strange work of God in Isaiah 28:21, is now going on. By this provision God has made, all His children who had gone astray would come back to worship Him and be purified and saved by Him in the end by His grace. The mercies of God are so great that any person of goodwill who repents thoroughly will be forgiven – as long as he refrains from committing the errors of the past. Indeed God Almighty has no pleasure in the death of anybody. He says in Ezekiel 33:11 “Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?” To those who are of meek and humble spirit, God Almighty invites to come to Him so as to be cleansed or sanctified with His truth. “If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.” – Isaiah 1:19, 20.
