“Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” - Luke 21:36.

In our Lord's prophecies about the last days or time of the end, he spoke of a time of general distress among people; when revolts, uprisings, upheavals and revolutions will be the rule rather than the exception. (Luke 21:25,26) People will be in constant fear not only because of the difficulties they are exposed to but also because of what appears to them to be a bleak future. These problems are now staring us in the face and the sky appears to darken even further as the days go by. In many parts of the world, people contend with months of unpaid salaries; some have lost their jobs, as companies and businesses collapse and many are thus unable to repay their loans and foot their bills. Some are living in fear of impending job cuts while there are those who are  into jobs that they hate.  Consequently, suicide rates have risen as some people prefer to take their own lives than suffer the bitter shame of their outraged feelings. Those who trust in God know He will not allow them to be in shame. (Psalm 119:31) He will in due course save them from all the evils of the last days and grant them salvation. This “great act” would be done through Jesus Christ, who “shall judge the poor of the people, he shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor”. - Psalm 72:4.
