The word benefit means that which has good effect or that promotes well being.  In this case we are concerned about the effects of the coming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to the world, in terms of ensuring their well being and happiness..

Why did Jesus Christ have to come to the world?

He paid the ransom for our sins

After the fall of man there was no perfect man to pay for the life lost in the Garden of Eden because the law of God is that life must go for life. - Deuteronomy 19:21.

Hence he said in John 3:16 that God so loved the world t hat He gave His only son that those who believe might be saved. In Hebrews 2:9, 14,15, it is stated that he died to save people from death and free people who had through fear of death being subject to bondage.

In Luke 4:16-21, Christ read from the book of Isaiah 61:1-3 and explained that it fulfilled on him. This is a beautiful summary of what his mission is.  See also Matthew 20:28.

He brought resurrection. In John 11:25, 26, it is written “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die…”  - John 11:25,26. See also John 11: 49-51
