The President read his address which was on the theme of the Ministers’ Conference: “Serving God with Sincerity of Heart”. In his paper, he noted the harsh economic situation in the country and thanked God for sustaining the faith of many of the members who have continued to do what they could to support His work while praying God to continue to bless them. The President further emphasized that the primary duty of Ministers among others, is to feed the members spiritually with the word of God. (Psalm 111:2,3). He stated that God’s work has been given to the Ministers to manage and that Ministers should not do as they please but they should always be conscious of the fact that it is what God Almighty wants that we should do, so that He would not be angry with us (See Matthew 24:45,46, 48-51). The President, Brother G. O. Ifeacho pointed out that: “The issue of honesty is one that cannot be compromised or toyed with in that both the members and non-members reckon more with the actions of the Ministers than even with what they preach. Actions speak louder than words.” - Luke 6:46; James 2:14, 20; 1:22-25.
The President went on to state that Ministers must strive at all times to be “Providing for honest things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.” (2 Corinthians 8:21). He stated that when one does not cultivate a sincere heart condition, it leads to spiritual defilement. The Holy Scriptures say that nothing defiled can abide in God’s Organization (Psalm 15:1-5; Revelation 21:27). In concluding his address, the President stated that: “sincerity of heart brings abundant blessings from God Almighty … knowing that God knows the thoughts and intents of the heart and that He sees all that happen in heaven and earth” (Psalms 31:23,24; 11:4). He prayed the Almighty Father to continue to give the Ministers more of His holy spirit to enable them serve Him with clean hearts and honest minds so that the Ministry will be a shining example to the rest of the faithful by His grace.
